Architectural Space Integration Challenges

Kay’s Cigar Sensations in Glenside needed commercial cigar display cabinetry that could present inventory clearly while fitting the existing retail environment. The project centered on H-616 humidors finished in a red mahogany stain with LED lighting, giving the store a warm cabinet presence and better product visibility without requiring a full room rebuild.

Display humidor placement has to account for how customers browse, how staff restock, and how cigar boxes are viewed from the aisle. The cabinetry needed to provide enough capacity for daily retail use while keeping the presentation clean and easy to shop. LED lighting adds visibility, but it also requires planning so the finished cabinet highlights the product rather than feeling like an add-on.

The Glenside installation called for a balanced approach: recognizable retail display, durable commercial casework, and a finish that looked appropriate inside a cigar store. The goal was not to overpower the room. It was to give the humidor area a finished, organized display system that helped the inventory sell itself.

Handcrafted Production & Woodworking Execution

Newsham’s Woodshop manufactured the H-616 humidors for Kay’s Cigar Sensations as commercial cigar display cabinetry built for daily use. Structural cabinet components were glued, screwed, and dowel-joined for long-term strength instead of depending on structural staples or nails.

Genuine Spanish Cedar racks and cigar-facing interior components support proper product presentation inside the humidified display area. The red mahogany stain and LED package give the cabinets a stronger retail presence while keeping the focus on the cigars, not on unnecessary decoration.

Because H-Series humidors are produced inside Newsham’s 17,000-square-foot commercial cabinet shop, the cabinet dimensions, finish work, lighting coordination, and interior rack layout can be controlled before the piece reaches the jobsite. The finished installation gives Kay’s a cleaner cigar display, better visibility, and a more professional retail humidor presentation.
